The world is a different place from when many of us were in our school-age years, but some of our processes haven't changed much since that time. For example, we have loaded and unloaded our buses in a similar fashion for generations. From a safety point of view, I asked myself whether we can improve the process. It's not that we have been doing anything wrong, but from the perspective of the way the world works today, is it time to try something new to make our school safer than it was in years past? We are working on that.
Starting on November 8, 2017, we will unload and load all of our buses from the rear of the school next to the athletic fields. This will reduce public access to our buses during this time of day. Also, we will be shifting our student drop off and pick up to the building main office because the library access road must stay open and traffic-free for buses to exit.
We will be trying this new system over the next few weeks. No system is perfect, but our plan is to make the system safer than it was previously.
Thank you for your consideration,
