Jump Rope for Heart at OV this week
Students in grades K-5 are again participating in Jump Rope for Heart through the American Heart Association. Students collect sponsor donations, jump during physical education classes, and learn more about lifetime health.
Part of their physical education experience teaches that movement isn't just fun--it keeps Vikings and their loved ones healthy. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US, and 80% of risk factors for heart disease are preventable.
Jumping will take place during phys ed classes on Wednesday, June 8 and as part of Field Days on Thursday, June 9. Envelopes have been sent home with students for donations, or families can sign up their student for online donations here.
Funds go to to the American Heart Association to fund their research and education programs, and to OVCS for PE equipment. Students also collect donations for prizes that will be given out before the end of school.
Thank you for participating. A healthy Viking is a happy Viking.
