This year's annual futsal event by the O V C S Athletic Booster Club has been renamed the 2019 Carter Rood Memorial Futsal Tournament, in memory of Carter who loved soccer. Blink and you'd miss it, but Vikings didn't. That was a frisbee flying high in our gym earlier in the year as part of a physical education unit featuring what's commonly called Ultimate Frisbee. It was part of a mix of traditional and newer sports taught by Mr. DiPaulo, now in his first year teaching at O V. His goal is to inspire confidence in physical activity, and encourage students to value life-long activity and fitness. "I want these kids to live long, healthy lives," he said.  Read More

Cameron wins the Scripps National Spelling Competition at Otselic Valley
In an exciting (yes!) 17 rounds, Cameron Bartlett won the spelling bee followed by first runner up Jacob Bunting and 2nd runner up Carlie Golden. Cameron will participate in the Regional Spelling Bee Competition on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at SUNY Oneonta, Goodrich Theater. Congratulations everyone, and good luck Cameron!
