There are two Otselic Valley Central School District school board vacancies this year: the expiring 5- year term of Jeremy Foster, and the remainder of Mark Swayze's term which expires in 2021.
Nominating Petition Deadline
Petitions nominating candidates for the office of Board of Education member shall be filed with Mrs. Burpee, the District Clerk, at her office in our school building at 125 County Road 13A, South Otselic, New York, not later than Monday, April 22, 2019 between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM. Each petition shall be directed to the Clerk of the District, shall be signed by at least 25 voters of the District, and must state the name and residence of the candidate. Blank petitions can be picked up in the District Office as well.

Even if you don't plan on running for the school board, the public is invited to learn more about how elected members get to their seat, and what they do after being sworn in. There is even a section about the parliamentary procedure used during meetings.
