Library to be opened to the community

The Otselic Valley Library will be open to the community every Tuesday school is in session from 3:00-7:00 pm, beginning October 29.
Anyone who lives in the Otselic Valley community is welcome to visit and enjoy all the library has to offer:
  • come check out a book,
  • read in the comfort of our library chairs and tables,
  • return books that you may have gotten from the Book Mobile,
  • arrange to get books via interlibrary loan through librarian Julie Hammer,
  • use a computer and printer (with printing available at cost),
  • get more information about reading resources (like the Dolly Parton Imagination Library that sends FREE books to children under the age of 5) ,
  • read the magazines to which our library subscribes,
  • and enjoy special events.

YES, special events! Libraries can be community centers providing resources and specials to those who live the area, and the Otselic Valley Library is on board.

To kick off our opening, please come to enjoy fun activities with us on Tuesday, October 29:

3-4 pm: Face painting with Ms. Lawrence

4-5 pm: Halloween cradts with Mrs. Allen

3-7 pm:  Dan the Snake Man with his LIVE reptile friends

      Plus Halloween treats!

Families, we especially hope you can join us! Your support of reading  is an important part of your students' learning to read at and above grade level, which is central to their school success.  The ability to read at grade level is also a core component of our school district's Strategic Plan. Reading matters!

We hope to see you all on Tuesday,  October 29, and every Tuesday the library is open.

What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels about education. —Harold Howe
