Saying goodbye to Mrs. Lacey Eaves

After 17 years, Mrs. Lacey Eaves is now saying goodbye to Otselic Valley.
In 2005 she began work in our district as an elementary counselor and chairperson for the Committee on Special Education (CSE) in Georgetown. In 2012 she shifted to administration as an elementary principal plus CSE. In 2013 when the Georgetown and South Otselic buildings combined, she moved to curriculum and special programs which she’s continued to handle along with the title change to Executive Principal.
Mrs. Eaves has supported thousands of students and their families, partnered with staff, sorted curricula, and managed New York State Education Department requirements on behalf of our students.  She’s navigated Otselic Valley’s changes and growth without ever losing her unique sense of humor and resilience. We have so many reasons to be grateful for her.
At the May 5, 2022 Board of Education meeting, thanks from the Board of Education were both formal and heartfelt. Friday, May 6 is Mrs. Eaves’s last day at Otselic Valley, after which we look forward to welcoming Mrs. Deb Kurtz’s return to OV as the Interim Building Principal.
Good luck on your next opportunity, Mrs. Eaves, and thank you for everything!
May you be proud of the work you have done, the person you are, and the difference you have made.
