Transportation

The Transportation Department is responsible for transporting students who live in our district to and from school, athletic competitions, career and technical education classes, field trips, after-school programming, special events, and more.

Safety is our greatest priority. Throughout the year, continued education for students, drivers, and aides help ensure that transportation is accomplished safely. Driver training, student safety drills, practiced early dismissal, safety awareness programs, and bus awards for elementary students all emphasize the importance of school bus safety.

Thank you, parents and guardians, for reminding your children that school bus rules are important for keeping everyone safe.

Stopfinder

Otselic Valley no longer makes specific bus routes and schedules available to the public. Instead, we use Stopfinder, a FREE phone app for transportation communication and alerts. This app is available in real time to communicate about routes, buses that may be running late, and emergency closings and delays. Because it includes emergency updates, it is also useful for parents/guardians who drive students to school, and whose students walk to school.

To sign up, you'll need to receive an invitation in your email. If you don't yet have the Stopfinder app, please contact Ms. Shoemaker at DShoemak@ovcs.org.
