Otselic Valley Central School is proud to announce the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2025: Carlie Golden has been named Valedictorian, and Caylene Russell has been named Salutatorian. These two outstanding students were officially recognized during the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on April 29, 2025.
Carlie and Caylene have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication throughout their years at Otselic Valley.
Valedictorian: Carlie Golden
Carlie, daughter of Ashley and Patrick Golden, has been an active leader both inside and outside the classroom. She has participated in Student Government, National Honor Society, Colgate Seminars, served as Class of 2025 President, and played goalie for the Girlsโ Varsity Soccer team. Alongside her extracurricular activities, Carlie has worked as a supervisor at Magroโs in Cincinnatus for four years. After graduation, she plans to attend SUNY Morrisvilleโs Nursing program to earn her RN degree, specializing in Labor and Delivery.
Salutatorian: Caylene Russell
Caylene, daughter of Cassandra and David Russell, has been involved in FFA, Student Government, National Honor Society, Yearbook, Drama Club, and Band. She currently serves as Class Treasurer. In May 2024, Caylene earned the prestigious Empire Degree, the highest FFA degree awarded in New York State. She plans to attend Cornell Universityโs Animal Science program to pursue a degree in Veterinary Science and work with both small and large animals.
We congratulate Carlie and Caylene on their remarkable accomplishments and look forward to hearing their speeches at the Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony, where we will celebrate the achievements of the entire graduating class.
