Otselic Valley seeks community feedback as new policy is developed
A new law recently signed by Governor Kathy Hochul will prohibit the use of personal internet-enabled devices -- including cell phones, tablets, earbuds, and smartwatches -- during the school day in all New York State schools. The regulation will go into effect at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
In response, Otselic Valley Central School District will develop a local policy that meets the requirements of this new law while supporting student learning, safety, and communication. As part of this process, the district is seeking input from parents and guardians.
