Tina Cruikshank Award Winner

On June 4th, members of the Otselic Valley Central School District community attended the 2025 School Library & Administrator Recognition Celebration, hosted by the Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES School Library System. The event took place at the Canasawacta Country Club in Norwich, NY, and brought together educators and library professionals from across the region.

We are proud to announce that Otselic Valley’s own Tina Cruikshank, Library Aide, was recognized with a special award for her dedication and service to our school library. Tina was nominated by Librarian Catalina Charles, who praised her unwavering support of students and staff, her reliability, and her enthusiasm for fostering a love of reading within the school community.

The celebration featured keynote speaker Jennifer LaGarde, a nationally recognized library and literacy leader. With more than 20 years in public education, LaGarde spoke passionately about the importance of access to strong library programs and the vital role school librarians play in empowering young learners. Her address was both inspiring and interactive, filled with personal stories, book giveaways, and encouragement for all in attendance.

Congratulations to Tina Cruikshank on this well-deserved honor, and thank you to all who continue to support our school libraries!
