Otselic Valley is planning for the future while taking care of the school our community has invested in for generations.
On October 15, the Board of Education approved moving forward with a proposed approximately $6 million capital project focused on school safety, preserving and maintaining our building, and making important improvements for students and the community.
And there's an important part of this proposal we want every district resident to know:
The District anticipates NO INCREASE to the local tax levy as a result of this project.
Through New York State Building Aid, the retirement of existing district debt and careful long-term financial planning, Otselic Valley can address these important facility needs without increasing the local tax levy.
Proposed improvements include:
• A modernized playground with new equipment, safety surfacing and improved drainage
• Building access and security upgrades
• HVAC improvement
• Stair, sidewalk and paver replacement
• Southwest parking lot improvements
• Boiler room pump replacement
• Elevator modernization
• A modernized district phone system
Over the coming weeks, we'll take a closer look at the project, explain how it would be funded and share opportunities for you to ask questions.
