|| Summer Learning, LPP Style!
Students in our Liberty Partnerships Program have been busy this summer learning through hands-on experiences, teamwork, and outdoor exploration!
From 4-H science experiments with acids and bases...
...to making dog collars for shelter animals
...to building fires and shelters at the Rogers Environmental Education Center
...and even churning their own butter!
Our students are building problem-solving skills, strengthening friendships, and having fun while doing it.

|| Winter Coaching Opportunities at OV!
Otselic Valley is now accepting applications for Winter 2025–2026 athletic positions (each season will have its own vacancy notice and appointments made in the months prior to the start of the season).
Available positions include:
• Boys & Girls Varsity Basketball
• Boys & Girls Modified Basketball
• Indoor Scoreboard Operator
• Shot Clock Operator
• Varsity Bookkeeper (Home Games)
Applicants must have appropriate coaching certification or be enrolled in certification courses.

|| We're Hiring: Special Education Teacher (Anticipated)

Otselic Valley Central School is seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2025–26 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting diverse learners, experienced in evidence-based instructional strategies, and committed to fostering strong collaboration with our Instructional Support Services team.

• NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities 1-6 (Required)
• Multiple certifications preferred

|| OV Takes the Win!
Congratulations to “The Dirty Birdies” -- our very own champions from Otselic Valley Central School District -- who took first place at the DCMO BOCES Lew Ford Memorial Golf Outing on June 30th at Afton Golf Course! || Congratulations to Caylene Russell!
Otselic Valley's own Caylene Russell has been recognized as a NYSPHSAA Section III Scholar Athlete -- one of the most prestigious honors in Section III athletics! This award celebrates students who excel both academically and athletically, and Caylene has done just that, shining in two sports while maintaining excellence in the classroom.
Her hard work, perseverance, and commitment have set her apart, and now she’s headed to Cornell University in the Fall!
We’re proud to celebrate your achievements, Caylene!

|| Healthy Kids Summer Program Update
We’ve been informed that the Healthy Kids Summer Program for Otselic Valley families has been canceled. Families who were registered should have received direct communication from Healthy Kids.
While we’re disappointed the summer program won’t run this year, we’re hopeful that after-school care will still be available for the upcoming school year.

|| Celebrating a Sweet Year in First Grade! Mrs. Stoklosa’s first grade class wrapped up the school year with a fun and thoughtful awards celebration! Each student received a special “sweet award” recognizing their unique strengths and hard work throughout the year.

|| A Memorable Last Day for OV Elementary! To celebrate the end of this school year, our elementary students took their final walk out of the building through a special tradition -- a hand bridge formed by the teachers. It was a sweet way to wrap up the year and send students off into summer break.

|| Summer Driver’s Ed -- Spots Still Available! Looking to save on car insurance and gain valuable experience behind the wheel? We still have openings in Otselic Valley’s Summer Driver’s Education Program! • Students must have a valid learner’s permit • Program runs June 27th through the week of July 28th • Attendance is required for 16 days of class and driving This is a great opportunity for students to meet DMV requirements and gain confidence on the road. We're turning the page back to the year 2000 with this photo from the New Horizons yearbook, titled “Millennium Moments.” Featured here are the seniors who graduated 25 years ago as the Class of 2000! A new century, a new chapter, and memories that still hold strong.

|| Wrapping Up the ABC Countdown to Summer with a Splash! Our Pre-K through 2nd grade students celebrated the end of their ABC Countdown to Summer in the most fun (and wet!) way possible -- with a Water Day outside! To add a twist, students earned water balloons to throw at their teachers based on how many points they moved up in their benchmark testing. The better they did, the more balloons they got, and let’s just say, the teachers got very wet! It was a joyful way to celebrate their hard work and a fantastic school year. Great job, OV students, you’ve earned this fun!
