Our younger and older students came together this week for a special Buddy Reading activity in celebration of Read Across America Week.

Mrs. Brown’s 5th grade students joined Mrs. Stoklosa's 1st graders to share books and spend time reading. Students enjoyed their buddy reading time and sharing stories. Activities like this help build a love of reading while creating connections between students across grade levels.

|| Second Graders Learn About Helen Keller
Mrs. Marston’s second grade class has been learning about Helen Keller and her life.
As part of their lesson, students took a “field trip” around the school to find and explore Braille signs throughout the building. Using their sense of touch, they were able to feel the raised dots and see how Braille is used in everyday spaces.
This hands-on activity helped bring their learning to life in a meaningful way!

|| Morning Program at OV

We started our Friday the OV way with the Pledge of Allegiance and a patriotic song, followed by student shares from each classroom, including the weather and lunch menu. During Kids with Character, everyone joined together to sing the Honesty song from PurposeFull People.

Students also shared jokes and fun facts, bringing lots of smiles to the room. We then proudly recognized our OV Shoutouts from each class.

We also enjoyed a wonderful OV’s Got Talent performance from Claire, who sang “Your Ways Better.”

What a great way to start our Friday!
