|| Helping Hands and Full Hearts
We’re grateful for another successful trip to Good Neighbors NY in Vestal last week!
A carload of food, drinks, snacks, and other items made its way back to Otselic Valley to support our students. These donations were distributed across multiple locations throughout the school to help keep our Vikings fueled and ready to learn.
We first connected with Good Neighbors NY through the SUNY Morrisville LPP program last spring, and we’re so thankful that partnership continues to grow.
Thank you to Good Neighbors NY for their continued generosity and partnership -- and a special thank-you to Linda Gorton for helping make this connection possible!

|| OV Modified Soccer Highlights!
The girls modified soccer team earned their first win of the season last night with a 2-1 victory over McGraw!
Both goals were scored by Autumn, with Saria making some impressive saves in goal to keep things close. Callie helped anchor a strong defensive effort, while Ellie and Kassidy kept the energy up in midfield with great passing and hustle all game long. The girls take the field again tonight at home vs. Stockbridge -- way to go, Vikings!
On the boys side, the modified team traveled to Cincinnatus on Friday. Although they fell 1-3, the group worked hard on defense and Fenner scored the lone goal on a penalty kick. Last night, the boys faced them again and showed great improvement, battling to a 0–0 tie! Awesome effort and teamwork, Vikings!

|| Cooking in 5A and 5B!
Our 5A and 5B students had a delicious hands-on experience in class as they made fresh roasted salsa and quesadillas. Not only did they practice teamwork in the kitchen, but they also got to enjoy the tasty results of their hard work!
|| First Grade Book Delivery!
Our first graders received their very first books from their book sponsors this week -- and they were so excited! Thanks to the generosity of donors supporting our Scholastic book campaign, each student will receive a free book each month this year. This is such a wonderful way to foster a love of literacy and encourage lifelong reading.
This month’s book is The Ocean Is Kind of a Big Deal by Nick Seluk. Students enjoyed reading along together in class, learning fun ocean facts, and laughing at the ocean jokes included in the story.
Later this month, first grade will also receive their October book with a fun Halloween theme!
If you’d like to help keep this program going strong, there’s still time to support the Scholastic Book Campaign: https://rebrand.ly/6rxwxmb

🌟 Liberty Partnership Program Highlights
This year, our Liberty Partnership Program (LPP) has offered our students so many meaningful opportunities!

• High school students explored SUNY Delhi, Cortland, Cobleskill, and the Job Corps campus in Oneonta.
• Middle school students took part in two trips to the Wilderness Adventure Park in Greene, where they participated in team-building activities, climbed the ropes course, and tackled the climbing wall. (Learn more about the park here: https://chowc.org/our-services/wilderness-adventure/)
These experiences not only build skills but also create memories that strengthen our Viking community.
