HUMANITARIAN DAILY RATIONS EXPLORED >
"Last week, the 20th Century Conflict class enjoyed a Humanitarian Daily Ration. 20th Century Conflict is a high school elective where students learn about the major U.S. conflicts of the 20th century, and make connections to current events. As a part of the class, students sampled a Humanitarian Daily Ration, or a daily meal that U.S. Service members provide to locals in conflict areas. The meal included the following items:
Unfrosted maple and brown sugar pop tart
Vegetable cracker
Shortbread cookie
Oatmeal cookie
Vegetable and rice entrée
Barley stew entrée
Peanut butter spread
Jelly spread
The was sealed in pouches to be bale to preserve it for long periods of time. The options in the Daily Rations are mainly vegetarian to meet the dietary restrictions of the various local populations.
The students described the food as similar to 'cold condensed soup, without water.' While the entrees were generally not well received, the oatmeal cookie and peanut butter spread were a hit!"

VIKINGS DEFEAT MADISON >
"The Boys’ Varsity team picked up a big win on Friday night under the lights by a score of 3 to 2 over Madison. OV started the scoring with a corner kick taken by Ryatt Bilodeau to a header from Braeden Davis. Madison then tied it up on their own corner kick. The Vikings scored a 2nd goal from a free kick from Austin Brown to Owen Davis. Madison then tied it up on their own free kick. Finally the Vikings took the lead for good with a great sequence of passes that Ryatt Bilodeau scored on, assisted by Owen Davis. Caleb Loomis, Austin Brown, and Levi Learned all ended up with some big saves. Great team win! The boys are away at McGraw today. Wish them luck!" -- Coach Preston

"The boys from OV played hard in last night's overtime game. Although we finished on the wrong side of the 3 to 2 score, the boys played with great effort! Being down early 0 to 2, they did not give up and came back and tied it up 2 to 2. Both teams had opportunities to score. Goals were scored by Braeden and Owen Davis, and Austin Brown had an assist on a nice set piece. Keep working, boys, there many games left in the season. Thank you to all who come to support our Vikings!" -- Coach Preston
