MIDDLE SCHOOL ORIENTATION: TUESDAY, 8/27, 4-6 PM
Middle School is very different from Elementary School, and this year's orientation is an important opportunity to learn more about expectations, grading, discipline, goals, and more.
Parents/guardians and students in grades 6-8 are invited to come to the MPR for a presentation, to be followed by the lock handouts, classroom visits, and conversations with teachers.
Don't forget: Back to School Night on Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 3-6 pm all over the school has additional opportunities. We have a lot to look forward to!
REMINDERS:
Wednesday, August 21 is the last day of the summer enrichment program and the summer food service program.
Beginning the afternoon of Thursday, August 22 and all day Friday, August 23, school offices and the library will be CLOSED for custodial maintenance.
A little bit of the Valley will go with departing Interim Superintendent Debra Kurtz, thanks to tokens of appreciation from The Artselic presented to her by Mrs. Neal at the August 15, 2024 Board of Education meeting. Mr. Brian Collier, our new Superintendent, joins us on Monday, August 19.

REMINDER:
On Thursday, August 15, 2024, the scheduled Board of Education meetings include a Public Hearing for the Code of Conduct and District Safety Plan at 7 pm in the mirrored cafeteria, followed by a regular meeting at 7:15 pm.
Copies of documents are available upon request at the cost of printing: ten cents per page.
FALL SPORTS INFORMATION NIGHT
Parents/guardians and their student athletes in grades 7-12 who are playing Modified or Varsity Soccer this year are invited to a Fall Sports Information Night on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21 at 7 pm in the gym. You'll get a basic overview of the coming season, and details about what to expect.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT!
All students and families are invited to join us on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 from 3:00-6:00 pm for an open house that will get you ready for the first day of school on Thursday, September 5. You can meet your teachers and Mr. Collier (our new Superintendent), get access to Seesaw and Schoology, complete opening day paperwork, pick up your schedule, and pick up your device/locker number/lock. AUGUST REGENTS REMINDER
Regents exams are Monday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 20. Students should check with their summer school teachers about dates and times of exams.

UPDATE TO THE 2024 FALL SPORTS REGISTRATION PROCESS
Parents/Guardians, please do not fill out the paper forms for athletic participation that you received in the mail. If your child wants to participate in the Fall sports season, you will need to register them ONLINE through Family ID. SUMMER ADVENTURE AWAITS!
Remember, the FREE summer enrichment program for pre-registered students starts THIS MONDAY (August 5), from 8 am - noon. Breakfast and lunch will be served. (No program on Fridays.)
NEW END DATE: The last day will be Wednesday, August 21 because offices will be closed on August 22 for custodial work.
