Dear Otselic Valley Central School District Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s),
The safety of our students and school staff is very important to us. One of the ways we stay safe is by holding school safety drills. To help us practice and learn, we will be having a safety drill this week.
We will be initiating an EVACUATION DRILL.
Before we practice a drill, we teach students and staff what they need to do. We talk about how the drill will be announced and we always inform students and staff that it is a drill. These drills serve as a valuable learning experience, helping to ensure that our students and staff are familiar with building procedures and can respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency.
After the drill, students and families are encouraged to ask questions. Below are resources to help you talk to your children.

HOMECOMING PARADE:
Wednesday, October 9th
Location: Gather at the Fish Hatchery at 5 p.m., step-off at 5:30 p.m. Bring your school spirit and join the excitement!
HOMECOMING DANCE:
Dance the Night Away at the Disco!
Date: October 10
Time: 8-11 p.m.
Dress Code: Semi-formal
Tickets: $16 for Singles / $20 for Couples Free Disco Glasses with every ticket!
**Tickets will be on sale during lunches starting Friday, October 4th.**
If you plan to bring a guest, pick up the required paperwork in the Main Office now through Friday, October 4th. All paperwork must be returned by Tuesday, October 7th.
Open to all students in grades 9-12! Hosted by the OV Student Government. Don't miss out on the fun!
HOMECOMING SOCCER GAMES:
Come on out and support our Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer squads as they take on McGraw on Friday, October 11th! The Lady Vikings match kicks-off at 5:30 p.m. with the Boys’ matchup to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Students from multiple grade levels stopped in for an exciting lesson in Animal Science with guidance from OV Agriculture and FFA educator Mrs. Lehmann where they learned about puppy observation, different dog breeds, choosing a puppy, and training tips.

The OV Lady Vikings put up a strong and determined fight at Brookfield on Friday. The backline and hardworking midfielders were relentless, successfully stopping multiple attacks and keeping the game close at 1-0 through halftime.
Despite facing injuries and illness that left the bench short and dealing with unseasonably warm weather, the team showed incredible resilience. In the end, they fell 3-0, but not without a tremendous effort. Senior keeper Carli Golden was outstanding, making an impressive 25 saves, showcasing her talent and dedication.
Lady Vikings will have two shots a redemption later this week:
A Tuesday home turf match at 4:30 p.m. vs. Madison, and a Friday evening match Vs. S-E at Blackhawk Stadium in Oxford, also at 4:30 p.m.

Vikings start every school day with Morning Announcements, and today 's broadcast was presented by Fenner and Gavin. After the flag salute they mentioned upcoming meetings, a reminder for seniors about their senior photo status form, fall play rehearsal details, a reminder about the fall play parent meeting (tonight at 6:30 pm!), a club schedule change, and a brief overview of the Lady Vikings soccer game vs. McGraw last night (next time ladies!). It's different every day.

PK-12 PICTURE DAY IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
Picture Day on Wednesday, Sept. 25th is open to all children and youth who live in the Otselic Valley Central School District, including homeschooled, preschool-aged, and students who learn at BOCES.
Picture packets were sent home with students this week, but extras are available in the Main Office, and Mr. Forbes will have extras in the M P R on Picture Day. Payment is due on Picture Day (1 check per family).
